Welcome to Patchway, a busy town in South Gloucestershire, in the beautiful South West of England! The town is often regarded as a suburb of Bristol, but is actually located on the very border of the city. Due to its proximity to Bristol it does house a percentage of the city's overflow, and is considered to be a dormitory/commuter town for those working, or studying, in Bristol.

Originally a small settlement centered on what was then known as Patchway Green, now Patchway Common, the village was focused mainly around agriculture and farming. It grew substantially and steadily in the 1920's when nearby Filton Aerodrome flying school was converted into an aero-engine factory for the BAC (Bristol Aeroplane Company). In the 1930s new housing was built on the Patchway Estate, situated just north of the Filton Aerodrome and industrialisation of the area really took off. Patchway is now a bustling town and home to over ten thousand people.

The town has an interesting mix of architecture from a range of eras, including Victorian terraces, 1930s semis and many modern buildings. It has a fabulous variety of shops, restuarants, pubs, bars and venues. The nearby Cribbs Causeway is reported to be the largest shopping centre in South West England. Cribbs Causeway is actually a road that has given its name to a large shopping centre, out of town. It is home to retail parks and a huge enclosed shopping centre, The Mall. The Mall has 135 shops spread out over two levels! A fantastic place for all with a passion for retail therapy! There is also, The Venue, which has on site a ten-pin bowling alley, a VUE cinema, a gym and a plethora of fast-food eateries.
